Server Rules
The following rules are designed to ensure a fair and immersive roleplay experience. While we aim to cover all scenarios, please note that these guidelines may change without prior notice. For any questions or clarifications, feel free to reach out to a staff member on Discord, following the chain of command. Inactive players risk having their character data wiped.
Note - Any rule violation, even a single instance, can result in a ban. It is your duty to stay informed about updates to these rules. The staff team reserves the right to impose appropriate penalties for any infractions.

OOC Terminology
- OOC Conversations: Out-of-character (OOC) discussions must take place on Discord and are strictly prohibited during in-game activities.
- Immersion: Immersion is critical to the roleplaying expeokrience. Avoid using language or phrases that disrupt the immersive atmosphere, as it detracts from the enjoyment of others. Always choose language that aligns with the in-game context.
- Mentions of Other Cities or Counties: References to other “cities” or “counties” within the community are not allowed under any circumstances.

- In-Game Reporting: While the /report command is available for immediate issues, it is not a substitute for the formal ticket system.
- Report Requirements: Include detailed information and evidence (e.g., timestamps, involved parties, screenshots, or videos) when submitting a report to ensure staff can accurately address the situation (Discord Ticket Only).
- Processing Time: Reports are typically addressed within 48 hours, but complex or high-volume cases may take up to a week.
- Staff Misconduct: Concerns about staff abuse should be submitted through the Discord ticket system for thorough investigation and proper resolution.
- Communication Etiquette: Refrain from directly messaging staff regarding community concerns. Use the ticket system to ensure efficient handling.
- Roleplay Interruption: Staff can request players to pause roleplay if server rules are being violated. This can be initiated through Discord tickets.
Crime And Gangs
Gangs
- Gang Concepts: Gangs are encouraged to embrace creativity and originality. Conflict and rivalries can be part of the dynamic, but gang roleplay should also explore diverse storylines and objectives.
- Conflict Resolution: Always initiate roleplay and use verbal communication before resorting to violence. Conflicts originating from social media or out-of-game interactions should be resolved through immersive, in-game roleplay.
- Gang Handbook: Comprehensive information about gangs and the application process can be found in the Gang Handbook Coming Soon:
- Quality Roleplay in Taxing: When engaging in taxing, ensure meaningful and immersive interactions. Simply driving up and demanding payment without effort is insufficient. Focus on creating realistic roleplay experiences.
- Taxing Regulations: Staff may revoke taxing permissions if the rewards gained are deemed excessive or unreasonable.
- Gang-Specific Clothing and Items: Gang-specific clothing, flags, or liveries must be obtained through roleplay and should not be used if they cannot be realistically acquired.
Criminal Activities
Participant Limits:
- A maximum of five criminals can participate in any criminal activity at a time.
- "Criminal activities" encompass all illegal actions, not just robberies.
5-Man Rule:
- Only the original participants of a criminal scenario are allowed to be involved until its conclusion.
- Additional assistance (e.g., providing information, acting as lookouts, or using radio communications) is prohibited.
- Gangs may not lead scenarios back to or near their turf if it would violate the 5-man rule.
Mechanic Abilities:
- Mechanics cannot use job-specific abilities or menus (e.g., F1 menu) during criminal activities.
Separate Group Independence:
- Groups must operate independently and cannot collaborate on separate objectives within the same scenario.
Prison Transports:
- Prison transports are treated as separate scenarios. A new group of up to five participants may be assembled for this purpose.
Fake Hostages:
- Using fake hostages is strictly prohibited to ensure fair and immersive roleplay.
Interaction with Government Employees
Robbing Government Employees:
- Targeting PD (Police Department), DOJ (Department of Justice), or EMS (Emergency Medical Services) solely for their belongings is prohibited.
Respect for Roles:
- Government employees play vital roles within the community, and interactions should enhance roleplay rather than disrupt it for personal gain.
Restart and Crash Rules
Restart Cooldowns:
- Robberies and criminal activities are prohibited 60 minutes before and 30 minutes after a scheduled server restart.
- General crimes (e.g., house robbing, selling drugs, robbing players) are prohibited 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after restarts.
Unscheduled Restarts:
- Following an unscheduled restart or server crash, wait 15 minutes before engaging in criminal activities.
Camping and Shooting Rules
Camping Restrictions:
- Do not camp or stake out areas to commit crimes. You may assess an area but must leave for at least 5 minutes before returning.
Shooting Cooldown:
- A 90-minute cooldown applies to all shooting scenarios.
Guidelines for Specific Activities
Robberies and Plans:
- Activities such as Drug Runs, Fleeca, G6, Paleto Bank, and Pacific Standard Vault require detailed and creative robbery plans. (V2-2.5 Update)
- Simply fleeing until police lose sight is considered poor roleplay. Participants are encouraged to develop unique strategies for a more engaging experience.
Cooldown Periods:
- After engaging in specific activities, cooldowns are enforced:
- Store robberies/car boosts: 45 minutes
- Vangelico robberies: 90 minutes
- Fleeca/Drug Runs: 120 minutes
- Paleto Bank/Pacific Standard heists: 180 minutes
- Cooldowns apply collectively; participants cannot engage in another listed activity until the cooldown expires.
Robbing Players:
- Robberies must involve high-quality roleplay with justified reasons for targeting individuals.
- Commands like /me takes cash from pockets should be used to enhance the scene.
- No cap exists on the amount stolen, but focus on roleplay quality over profit.
Scamming:
- Scamming must involve valid in-game roleplay and a legitimate reason, with the intent of continuing the story.
- Using unauthorized menus or exploiting server functions is strictly prohibited.
- Scamming at teleport locations is not allowed.
Interference in Robberies:
-
Players cannot interfere with ongoing robberies unless specific exceptions apply:
- Gangs may intervene if the robbery occurs on their turf.
- Store owners can intervene if their establishment is being robbed.
- Revenge or rescuing hostages is not a valid reason to interfere.
Roleplay Rules
Deathmatch, Revenge, Killing & Kill On Sight
- Before engaging in any shootout or violent confrontation, players must initiate roleplay (RP) interactions. Clearly communicate intentions, establish the context, and ensure an immersive roleplay experience before escalating to violence. This fosters meaningful character development and engaging gameplay.
- Players may defend themselves or initiate an attack if another player attempts to harm them, damage their property, resists threats, or takes any hostile actions.
- Random Deathmatch (RDM): Killing or harming another player, or damaging their property, without valid in-character justification is prohibited.
- Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM): Intentionally using a vehicle to harm others or destroy property without valid roleplay reasoning is forbidden. While vehicles can serve as tools in roleplay, their use as weapons without justification is considered low-quality roleplay (LQRP) and should be avoided.
- Running someone over, even with an in-character reason, may still be regarded as LQRP and is discouraged.
New Life Rule (NLR)
- The New Life Rule applies when a player is incapacitated, respawns, or is treated at the hospital. The cause of incapacitation is irrelevant.
- After becoming incapacitated, players cannot return to the area of their death for 30 minutes and cannot take hostile actions against those responsible for their death for 60 minutes.
- Downed players cannot return to the scene to collect evidence, loot bodies, or engage further after the scenario ends.
Combat Roleplay Logging
- Disconnecting or respawning during a roleplay or combat situation with potential in-character consequences is prohibited.
- If a game crash or disconnection occurs, players must make every effort to reconnect and resume their roleplay scenario promptly.
- Using emotes (e.g., passout, sleep) to gain an unfair advantage during combat is not allowed.
Metagaming, Powergaming, Torture RP
- Using real-life information obtained outside the game to gain in-character advantages is prohibited. Examples include using streams or name tags to locate or identify players.
- Intentional metagaming to gain in-game benefits is a serious offense and undermines the immersive experience. Accidental metagaming, while less severe, is still discouraged and should be avoided.
- While in the city, players are not allowed to appear in the livestreams of other players who are also in the city.
Powergaming
- Powergaming refers to using abilities or mechanics that do not exist in the game or forcing other players into limited or no-choice situations.
- Using the /me command to force roleplay outcomes in your favor instead of leaving it open-ended is prohibited.
- Actions like spam jumping to move faster, hiding furniture outside property shells, escorting or cuffing players unnecessarily, or flipping vehicles unrealistically are considered powergaming.
- Spamming melee attacks or dragging players to avoid roleplay is a serious offense.
Torture Roleplay
- Torture roleplay is only allowed if all parties explicitly consent through a /me command.
- If any player indicates discomfort during torture roleplay, the scenario must end immediately.
Vehicle Restrictions
-
Vehicles with unbreakable or excessively small windows, covered fronts, or unfair advantages in shootouts are not allowed for criminal activities.
Third-Party Tools
-
Using third-party VOIP (e.g., Skype, Discord) during gameplay is strictly forbidden.
Property and Money Transfers
- Forcing victims to sell properties, vehicles, or businesses is not permitted.
- Requesting spare vehicle keys for roleplay purposes is allowed via the F1 menu and /givekey command.
- Forcing withdrawals from banks or ATMs is prohibited.
- Forcing the use of crafting or buy stations is not allowed.
Prison Roleplay

Roleplay Quality
General
- Cop Baiting: Intentionally provoking or luring police officers into scenarios without valid roleplay context is considered low-quality roleplay within the DRI community. For instance, causing a collision with a police vehicle solely to initiate a chase that leads to a gunfight or ambush detracts from the immersive and realistic roleplay experience.
- Avoid "Money Simulator" Gameplay: Prioritizing monetary gains over meaningful roleplay interactions is discouraged. Roleplay is about engaging with others, building relationships, and creating immersive experiences. Focus on dynamic interactions rather than merely accumulating wealth.
- Engaging with EMS: Refusing to cooperate with EMS staff may result in consequences, including removal from the server. It is important to roleplay realistically by responding appropriately to EMS staff. Refer to the provided guidelines for additional details to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable roleplay experience for all DRI members.
- No Toxic Behavior: Salty or toxic actions such as repeatedly shooting downed players, playing loud or disruptive music, excessive microphone screaming, spitting on or disrespectfully emoting at downed bodies, spinning disruptively, or engaging in unnecessary social media drama (e.g., Twitter) are strictly prohibited.
- No Hospital Camping: Intentionally waiting near hospitals to taunt or provoke players recovering from a fight is not allowed.
- Scene Enrichment: Use scenes to enhance roleplay by adding context and atmosphere to the scenario.
- Interactions with Police: Criminals must provide proper reasoning before initiating combat with police officers. This applies even during heightened conflict periods such as "mag dump season."
- Prohibited Actions: Randomly blowing up vehicles without valid initiation is not allowed.
Fail/Low Quality Roleplay
- FailRP (or Low-Quality RP) includes actions that are unrealistic or detrimental to others' roleplay experiences. While creative freedom is encouraged, actions that disrupt immersion or coherence can lead to consequences.
Examples of FailRP:
- Stripping upgrades off a stolen vehicle.
- Ignoring /me interactions (e.g., "takes off mask" or "steals shoes").
- Speaking normally after sustaining gunshot wounds instead of roleplaying the injury.
- Using a taser to pop a vehicle’s tire.
- Spectating shootouts instead of participating realistically.
- Robbing others without sufficient roleplay justification, including targeting police officers.
- Repeatedly using the same shootout location within a short timeframe.
- Ocean dumping vehicles without a valid roleplay reason.
Value of Life
- Players must prioritize their character's survival and act as if they have only one life. Avoid situations that would unnecessarily risk your character’s life.
- Compliance: If a gun is pointed at your head and you are unaware, compliance with the other party’s demands is expected.
- Outnumbered Scenarios: If significantly outnumbered (e.g., 3 to 1), complying with the group's demands is generally required. However, attempting to escape in a realistic manner is allowed if the opportunity arises.
- Bad Example of Escape: Running away while being held hostage in front of a bank, despite a firearm being pointed at you, with no realistic chance of success, is not acceptable.
